How to Use this Site

The site can be navigated by using the Careers page. This will allow you to search for different health careers. Each health career includes information on its salary, educational requirements, high school preparation and schools or training facilities offering degrees or certificates. The careers are grouped by discipline though there is also an alphabetical career list of all 82 careers.

The Schools link shows a list of the Colorado schools/agencies that offer some sort of program related to health careers. It should be noted that the schools list also includes agencies that offer training specific to health careers. Agencies might include a hospital that offers training in Radiation Technology. There are currently 106 schools/agencies in our database. If you know of a school that is not in our listing please use the form at Suggestions. Also note that each school may offer more than one opportunity for a health career; as such, we have 106 schools/agencies offering 465 programs/degrees.

The Organizations link provides a list of professional organizations that support different health careers. As you explore a health career it can be invaluable to visit the professional organizations associated with that career to learn more.

The Suggestions link allows you, as the user of this site, to get involved in keeping the Colorado Health Career guide up to date. Users can suggest careers (6 have been added in this edition). professional organizations and school/agencies. The suggestion is submitted to staff at Central Colorado AHEC who then determine its appropriateness for the site.

There is also a page of Frequently Asked Questions (or FAQ's) that puts the guide into context. Additionally, questions can be asked related to health careers.

The Financial Aid link takes the user to a series of information pages related financial aid from federal, state and other sources. The financial aid pages are not meant to include all the information there could be and the user is encouraged to contact the school for the most up-to-date information,

The on-line guide will attempt to keep the guide up to date with current data. If you have any updates, questions or concerns please e-mail meredith_lopez@coloradohealthcareers.org.
