Advanced Study of Caring Science with Dr. Watson

Dr. Watson accepts Visiting Fellows/Scholars/Colleagues for Advanced Study Program in Caring Science and Caring Theory. The program entails advanced self-directed study encouraging individuals to make a personal commitment to the ongoing pursuit of caring knowledge and praxis and to nurture congruence between the personal and professional self. It is intended for the experienced, advanced clinician or educator in nursing or related health care professionals. The program is offered at a postgraduate or graduate level.

CRITERIA
Apply and be accepted for self-directed, independent advanced study with Dr. Watson and/or a mutually agreed Faculty in the field.

APPLICATION AND AWARD CRITERIA
Application and award criteria for the Visiting Fellows Advanced Study Program in Caring Science are as follows:

Review and concurrence by Dr. Watson and other involved faculty and School Administration.

The Visiting Fellows Program is fulfilled through a joint arrangement between the applicant, Dr. Watson, and other sponsoring faculty.

A compilation of individual goals, activities, reflective authentication and project outcomes are the criterion of program completion as well as the student's Personal Portfolio.

Award of the Visiting Fellows Certificate in Caring Science will be based upon mutual dialogue and plan, an agreed timeline related to goal fulfillment and the project outcomes.

Modular courses and consultations are an additional requirement for formal completion of the program.

Independent Study with Dr. Watson through an in-residency period to be negotiated. See Watson Courses for additional information re: specific modules, times, dates, locations.

COST
The program is a joint agreement between the applicant, Dr. Watson and the School Administration. Individual projects, accomplishments and future goals and timelines are varied in nature. So, the price is established after application, acceptance, and initial phone-email consultation.

Anticipated price range is typically US $1,000 – 5,000 depending upon short or long term study time and nature of program. A minimum of US $1,000 is expected.
